Leading Ourselves
In the first year of the Thriving Development: Launch Program, participants build a strong foundation by learning the core principles and operational standards of Chick-fil-A in Washington, D.C. They gain essential knowledge through certification and key readings while developing an understanding of what drives organizational success. As the year progresses, the focus shifts inward, helping participants strengthen self-leadership through personal growth, habit formation, emotional awareness, and a deeper understanding of their unique strengths and challenges. Beginning in the first year and continuing throughout the program, participants will be in charge of a functional area of the restaurant to move theory into practice and develop their real-world leadership skills.
Leading Others
During the second year, participants expand their focus to leading others effectively. They learn how to balance results with relationships, develop and empower team members, and delegate with confidence. Emphasis is placed on communication, conflict resolution, and attracting and retaining talent, equipping participants with the skills needed to build strong, engaged, and high-performing teams.
Leading Organizations & Launching
In the third year of the program, participants transition to leading at the organizational level while preparing for their next step, whether that be advanced leadership roles, entrepreneurial opportunities, the Chick-fil-A operator journey, or a role with Chick-fil-A Corporate. During this year, they learn how to create a shared vision, shape a healthy leadership culture, and drive long-term success. This phase culminates in a personalized development and launch plan, ensuring each participant is equipped to lead with clarity, purpose, and strategic impact in the next phase of their career.
